Welp, we’ve done it. We’re here. I’ve created the blog. And I am absolutely petrified about it.

I’m not one to usually want to be in the front of content creation, because, well, I have some pretty terrible body dysmorphia where I don’t want people to be looking at me. I think that because I am not incredibly attractive that people won’t care what I have to say. I have PCOS with all the things that come with it – fat, acne, hair loss, hirsutism, depression, keratosis pilaris, etc. I have asthma and need to use my inhaler sometimes. I am neurospicy with ADHD brain, CPTSD from my entire life, depression, anxiety, you name it. And when I’ve looked at other lifestyle bloggers, I’ve thought – “That will never be me. I will never be that pretty and normal. No wonder when I date normal dudes they’re gone so quickly, that I was too much work and not worth it.”

Intrusive thoughts are the worst, aren’t they?

But I’ve had enough friends ask me for recommendations around town, whether or not it would be good for them and their needs. Would it be too many spoons? Is it easy for people with social anxiety? How low-key are things? Is it easy for someone to navigate on their own? So many questions that the idea for this blog was born suddenly, like a spark in my mind clearing a fog I didn’t even know existed.

So, I’ve decided that along with talking about my favorite places around Austin with recommendations on who to engage with/eat/do, I want to rate it based on my identifiers. Did I feel safe as a single woman? How many spoons did it take? Was parking the absolute fucking worst?

Thanks for being here at the beginning, and I hope this is the start of something that will soon be owned by the community.
